William E. Derringer of Lafayette, formerly of Covington, age 71, died Friday, February 11, at his home. He was born at Danville, Illinois, January 30, 1912, the son of William H. and Nellie Frazee Derringer. November 22, 1930, he married Ruth Parkman, who survives. Derringer was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Lafayette and has retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company.
Also surviving
are five sons, Mike with the Air Force in Nevada, David with the Navy in
Virginia, Harold, Jack and James of Lafayette; three sisters, Mabel Brown of
Hillsboro, Alice Robbins of Williamsport and Maxine Crisp of Perrysville; two
brothers, Roscoe of RR 3, Williamsport, and Chris of Covington; and four
grandchildren.
Funeral services
were held Tuesday morning at St. Boniface Catholic Church with Hippensteel
Funeral Home in Lafayette in charge of arrangements. Burial was at Lafayette. –
